May 2026 | We were pleased to host the second “Sector Dialogue”, featuring Mr. David BO, Independent Director of Zijin Mining, Asia Potash, and Lingbao Gold, on “China’s strategic minerals sector today – building towards an integrated exploration, production, supply, storage and sales system.”
Mr. David BO brings over 30 years of experience in the mining and oil & gas industries. He started his career at PetroChina before joining the Ivanhoe Group in 1996, where he held several senior business development positions. Over the past two years, he has served on the boards of various international companies and advised on mergers & acquisitions, financing, corporate strategy, and joint ventures.
Further, David is the author of the book The Ins and Outs of Global Mining, a case-based publication (in Chinese) covering the development and operation of international mining companies, including M&A, financing, valuation, risk management, corporate governance, as well as environmental protection, mining safety, and stakeholder relations.
The webinar examined:
the current minerals market and key trends
policy factors shaping the minerals sector
Geopolitical factors, including China’s export control measures
business opportunities for foreign business and collaboration models
We hope the session provided valuable perspectives on China’s minerals sector and broader economic and industrial developments. We look forward to continuing the “Sector Dialogues” webinars with further discussions on the trends and challenges shaping China’s economy on a sector level.
